Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RedactIt mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms.

RedactIt is a PII/PHI detection and redaction tool that analyzes text you submit and identifies sensitive information such as names, addresses, Social Security numbers, health information, and other personally identifiable data.

The Service is powered by Google Gemini AI. Detection accuracy may vary and the Service should not be relied upon as the sole compliance mechanism for regulated data handling.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Submit data you do not have the right to process.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or abuse the AI detection systems.
• Use automated scripts or bots to submit bulk requests beyond normal usage.
• Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service.

RedactIt offers a free tier with the following limits:

• 5 scans per day
• Black Out redaction mode only
• Access to the last 3 folders and records in scan history

Premium subscriptions unlock unlimited scans, all redaction modes, full history, and additional features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. You may cancel at any time through your App Store subscription settings.

The RedactIt app, its design, branding, and underlying technology are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ALL PII/PHI WILL BE DETECTED. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DATA BREACHES OR REGULATORY PENALTIES RESULTING FROM MISSED DETECTIONS.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction therein.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
